Now this is a real challenge but it would be great if someone on the mailing list could help.
Llanamynech Amateur Dramatic Society are looking for the loan of an iron bedstead. Needed for a play about Wilfred Owen's last night, which he spent with his men in the cellar of a forester's house. During the action, various items of furniture are carried down to the cellar from the ruined house above.
Thanks, Barbara
This is an opportunity for someone to get involved in a very special production.
This original play, by local playwrite Neil Rhodes, is set in Ors in France just days before the armistice was announced in 1918. The camaraderie between Wilfred and his men, the longing for home and the long suffering acceptance of war set the scene for the final day of Wilfred’s life. His poetry runs through the play bringing to life the experience of being a soldier in the ‘Great War’.
The play, entitled "The Forester's House", , which is to have it's premiere at Oswestry Cricket Club (which is in the grounds of Wilfred Owens former home) on 4th November, with two further performances at the Marches School 7th and 8th November, and three performances at Llanymynech Village Hall 13th,14th and 15th November.

The play is about the last night of Wilfred Owen's life, before his death the next moning, just a week before the armistice. In his letters home to his mother he writes of, and describes being in the cellar of a forester's house, where he is resting up with his men prior to the offensive. The play imagines the comradeship and banter between the men prior to the horrors which face them the next morning. It features some of Owen's poetry and music performed by staff and pupils from Oswestry School and the Marches School.
See the attached poster for full details, although there will be a reminder nearer the time when it is hoped you will stick the poster on awell, door, gate, fence or even a notice board near you.
