Boccia triumph

Message from Colin Case.

A team from Ruyton XI Towns entered a Boccia Tournament today at the Oswestry Leisure Centre.
(Boccia rhymes with "gotcha", and is a sort of indoor boules game)
We came THIRD - a magnificent performance considering none of us have played for a year.
We made some new friends from Baschurch - who noisily cheered us on in the later rounds (many thanks) - we are planning to play them in their hall on some Mondays.

The organisation was outstanding (well done Susie and the rcc) and the students from the Walford College Campus over the road were exceptionally helpful - they knew the rules and "umpired" impeccably and were very friendly and chatty - so many thanks to them.

And well done the rest of our Team - Garry Capstick and Carol Griffiths.

If anyone fancies a try, just let me know and I'll fix something up.

Now, back to admire my Bronze Medal!
