Ira Sachs (Keep the Lights On) delivers a tender, faultlessly observed drama about the latter days of a life-long love.

The film opens with the joyous wedding of George and Ben (Alfred Molina and John Lithgow) who have been together for 39 years and are clearly a source of stability, warmth and inspiration to their wide circle of family and friends. When Ben loses his job as a music teacher at a Catholic school, the couple are forced to leave their Manhattan abode and separate, staying at different apartments while they hunt for a new place of their own. Both leads give nuanced, award-deserving performances, as does Marisa Tomei as their niece. George and Ben may inhabit a familiar Manhattan of West Side shoebox apartments, galleries and classical concerts, but it's refreshingly peopled with all walks of life. This is a love story for grown-ups and also Sachs' ode to the beauty of NYC.

LIFE tells the story of photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson) who convinced a rebellious young actor on the cusp of stardom, James Dean (Dane DeHaan) to allow him to shoot him for LIFE Magazine.  The men take a trip from LA to Dean's hometown of Fairmont, Indiana, via Times Square, New York so that Stock could, in his words, capture Dean in all the environments that had "affected and shaped the unique character ".

While Stock thinks he's capturing a star in the moment before he breaks; in fact, he's documenting Dean's last moments of intimacy and simplicity.  In the process of their journey, a deep affection and improbable friendship gradually develops between the two young men. Their trip would result in some of the most iconic images of the age and a new breed of film star.

Kate Macer is a brilliant FBI agent with an impeccable track record and promising future. Her reputation lands her in her most dangerous mission to date; taking down a vicious drug cartel operating in the lawless border area in between the US and Mexico.

Led by a consultant whose charisma is only matched by his questionable past, Kate is quickly forced to reassess her values as she becomes embroiled in a seemingly impossible battle to bring the ruthless criminals to justice. As the bullets and bodies stack up, the team struggles to stay alive as the line between right and wrong becomes increasingly blurred.

Sicario (which is Mexican for 'hitman') debuted at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim. The film is the latest to be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who was responsible for two of 2013's most interesting movies: Prisoners and Enemy (which both starred Jake Gyllenhaal).

Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt has proven herself to be a versatile and much-sought-after actress in recent years with notable roles in Edge of Tomorrow (2014) opposite Tom Cruise and The Devil Wears Prada (2006) where she held her own against Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. She leads Sicario in the role of tough FBI standout, Kate Macer.

Stellar support comes in the shape of Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, The Goonies) and Benicio Del Toro (Guardians of the Galaxy). Grabbing the audience in a vice-like grip from its opening scene, Sicario doesn't let go until the closing credits, and promises to be one of 2015's most memorable pictures.

"Denis Villeneuve borrows Michael Mann's crown to take control of a straight-ahead genre movie as Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro battle Mexican druglords." **** The Guardian

"Villeneuve, cinematographer Roger Deakins and composer Jóhann Jóhannsson combine to make the action scenes gorgeous, scary and exciting, while the script by Taylor Sheridan is mordant and smart, with not a wasted word." New York Times

The rise of fundamentalism has threatened the lives of Malian musicians and the music they play. However, they refuse to be silenced.

Imagine living in a world with no radio, no stereos and no live music. It is difficult to contemplate, but that is exactly what happened in an area of Mali in 2012. Islamic Jihadists took control of Northern Mali and through a harsh interpretation of Sharia law they banned all forms of music.

In a tragedy that constitutes nothing less than a crime against humanity for a country famous for its vibrant and colourful music, radio stations were destroyed, instruments burned and revered musicians faced torture, even death.

For her feature debut, Johanna Schwartz intelligently captures the complexity and emotion of the life of musicians forced into exile and desperate to keep their music alive. The score was composed by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Nick Zinner and there is music from a variety of artists, including Khaira Arby, Fadimata 'Disco' Walet Oumar, Amkoullel and Moussa Sidi.

Matt Damon stars in Ridley Scott's epic sci-fi about a lone astronaut fighting for survival on Mars.

A manned mission to Mars goes disastrously wrong when a fierce storm leaves astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) missing, presumed dead. However, he has in fact survived – and when he wakes, he discovers that he is now stranded, alone, on the Red Planet.

With only enough resources to last 30 days, Mark manages to get a message to Earth – and millions of miles away, both NASA and his own team decide to stage separate yet equally daring rescue missions to bring back the 'Martian'.

Celebrated director Ridley Scott returns to the realm of sci-fi for the first time since his hit 2012 Alien prequel Prometheus with this gripping story of intergalactic survival.

Oscar winning Matt Damon heads the outstanding cast, which includes Jessica Chastain, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Pena, Kate Mara and Sean Bean.

Following on from our Sicario screenings we bring you a true story behind the Mexican drug cartels.

With unprecedented access, CARTEL LAND is a riveting, on-the-ground look at the journeys of two modern-day vigilante groups and their shared enemy – the murderous Mexican drug cartels.

In the Mexican state of Michoacán, Dr. Jose Mireles, a small-town physician known as "El Doctor," leads the Autodefensas, a citizen uprising against the violent Knights Templar drug cartel that has wreaked havoc on the region for years. Meanwhile, in Arizona's Altar Valley – a narrow, 52-mile-long desert corridor known as Cocaine Alley – Tim "Nailer" Foley, an American veteran, heads a small paramilitary group called Arizona Border Recon, whose goal is to stop Mexico's drug wars from seeping across our border.

Filmmaker Matthew Heineman embeds himself in the heart of darkness as Nailer, El Doctor, and the cartel each vie to bring their own brand of justice to a society where institutions have failed. From executive producer Kathryn Bigelow (THE HURT LOCKER, ZERO DARK THIRTY), CARTEL LAND is a chilling, visceral meditation on the breakdown of order and the blurry line between good and evil.

At the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, Heineman received both the Directing Award and Special Jury Award for Cinematography in the U.S. Documentary competition.

'If you thought Breaking Bad was terrifying. Wait until you see the real drug war.' - Esquire

For this inaugural screening we are pleased to offer with each cinema ticket a voucher for £1.50 redeemable at the Cambrian Heritage Railways Oswestry Station in exchange for tea & cake, stocking fillers or towards the ticket cost on a Santa Special train ride on 5th, 12th or 19th December.

We hope you will join us to fall in love like it's 1945 and maybe re enact your own romantic trysts in Buffers Cafe housed in the magnificent Italianate Oswestry Station building of the Cambrian Heritage Railways.

When Scottish general Macbeth encounters a trio of witches, they tell him that he is destined to be King. Filled with ideas of grandeur and power, Macbeth seeks the advice of his wife, the Lady Macbeth, and together they concoct their wicked plot.

With King Duncan slain, Macbeth takes the throne of Scotland, but the paranoia of success soon corrupts his mind. He believes the ghosts of his wrongdoings are following him everywhere, and a madness soon takes over.

As Macbeth descends into tyranny and his wife into torment, the future of Scotland is threatened. Superstition and anxieties are rife, and Macbeth soon discovers that he can trust nothing and no one.

Starring Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past) in the leading role, alongside Marion Cotillard (Two Days, One Night) as the ambitious Lady Macbeth, Macbeth is a thrilling and dramatic retelling of a truly classic tale.

"Blockbuster battle scenes, spine-tingling staging, utterly believable performances: is this as good as Shakespeare on film gets? Fassbender was born for this." ***** The Telegraph

Carey Mulligan and Meryl Streep fight for women's rights in this rousing factual drama.
