Afternoon Tea

The Orangery Restaurant, Derwen College

Visit Derwen College's historical Orangery Restaurant for Afternoon Tea. Enjoy a variety of sandwiches, plain and fruit scones with jam, butter and cream, a selection of cakes and desserts together with a choice of tea or coffee. Priced £7.95 per head. Lifeguard qualification

Swimming pool, Derwen College

Train with Derwen College's national award-winning lifeguard towards a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) accredited by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS). This lifeguarding qualification is an excellent foundation for a career in the leisure industry and for sports men and women involved in any type of water sports. Safeguarding Adults

Derwen College

Vulnerable adults exist in all areas of society and it's important that we understand what we can do to promote their welfare and safeguard them from potential harm. This Safeguarding Adults course aims to help increase knowledge of the subject so that participants feel confident in recognising abuse, reporting concerns and promoting a good quality of life for vulnerable adults. This course is delivered by a qualified and experienced Safeguarding manager, and is suitable for anyone whose job role involves working with vulnerable adults, whether it's on a full-time or part-time basis. The course is suitable for workers at all levels, including managers, supervisors, full-time staff and volunteers, and requires no pre-requisite knowledge. Priced £29. Makaton Beginners' Workshop

Derwen College

Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech, in spoken word order. For those who have experienced the frustration of being unable to communicate meaningfully or effectively, Makaton really can help; Makaton enables toddlers, children and adults to connect with other people and the world around them.
