Oswestry and the Borderlands of Shropshire and Wales have been described as "Fest Fabulous', there are so many events on during the year- art, food, literature, music, drama – you choose.
Oswestry's very own Food Festival must be mentioned, it takes place over a – hopefully – sunny weekend in July. For a one day countryside extravaganza don't miss Oswestry Show in August and for flowers galore choose between the renowned Shrewsbury Flower Show and the fragrant Sweet Pea Festival in Wem.
2018 will see many events commemorating the end of World War I and Oswestry will play its part remembering the short life of poet Wilfred Owen with a week long festival. One of the highlights will be the unveiling of a statue to him in the town park.
