Dear Blogger
Message from Ingrid Knowles of Oswestry Net.
Just sending this out to help beat the winter blues!
Our great friends Caleb and Reeb from The Foghorn Stringband are playing a gig for us lucky folks over here in Europe (or near it…) this coming Saturday, specially so we don't have to stay up into the middle of the night to watch live. They were due to come and play at Rhydycroesau Village Hall last June, but that went the way of everything else.
These guys are our favourite duo, and really capture an older sound in country music. Caleb Klauder's rowdy, dynamic mandolin playing, and Reeb Willms' unwavering guitar style weave a fabric around their songs and harmonies that proves joyous, timeless, and resilient. We can really recommend these gigs done through the Pickathon Music Festival - the sound and visual quality is always excellent.
It's a ticketed event, and this really helps to support musicians during a time when they can no longer make a living through touring.
Hope you can tune in - you won't regret it!
Let's hope it won't be too long before we can get back to the real thing!
Many thanks,
Jock Tyldesley
