Report on the Baschurch Station meeting on 15th July

Now we have the information do please add your pennyworth to help this campaign, to re-open Baschurch Station, to go ahead.

Message from Andy Woodthorpe, Baschurch Station Campaign,

I attended the Ruyton XI Towns PC meeting on Tuesday as Chair of the Station Campaign Group, and whilst I don't want to tread on their toes, would be grateful for any support you can offer.

There is currently a planning application https://pa.shropshire.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=neighbourComments&keyVal=RGO4RDTDI9600 regarding which we've been campaigning for people to have their say - regarding the development itself and as that development will release the land for the station car park, to express their views on the station.

As the mix of housing being offered on that development we believe will help people across the entire social spectrum, we are also encouraging people to fill out the https://www.righthomerightplace.co.uk/housing-needs-survey-questionnaire/  . This will be important for residents in whichever parish they live in as it will help provide meaningful data of what sort of housing needs to be built (and where) in the future).

Baschurch Station Campaign website is https://baschurchstation.org.uk/  . If there are any residents who have the relevant skills and passion to join our Campaign Committee then I ask they please email me as we do have some limited space - as you quite rightly say, Baschurch Station would hugely benefit places beyond Baschurch such as a Ruyon XI Tows. Also the car park, for which this first stage is so crucial, as it extends the catchment area of the station beyond Baschurch.

So key actions that we're asking - comment on the planning application and fill out Right Home Right Place. Anything that you could do to help promote that would be greatly appreciated

If you like any further information please get back to me.

regards

Andy
