Gardens open in Autumn

Message from Shropshire NGS.

"Come, little leaves," said the wind one day.
"Come o'er the meadows with me, and play'
Put on your dress of red and gold,—
Summer is gone, and the days grow cold."

OFFCOT, Kynaston, Kinnerley SY10 8EF is the perfect venue to see the leaves in their dresses of red and gold and will be open on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October from 10 am to 4 pm on both days. Just off A5 on Wolfshead roundabout (at Oswestry end of Nesscliffe bypass) towards Knockin. Then take the 1st L towards Kinnerley. Follow NGS signs from this road. Admission for adults £5.

A cottage garden with lots of winding pathways leading to different focal points. The garden is packed with a wide range of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs and underplanted with herbaceous perennials. There is a natural looking pond with a running stream feeding into it. A haven for wildlife. So many different areas to see and enjoy including the garden bar.  A garden with lots of hidden surprises.
Home made teas.
Many of our gardens take payment by card reader as well as cash.  However, it is sometimes difficult to connect to 4G or Wifi in our rural areas so please be understanding if old-fashioned cash is the only way to pay on the day.
Children are admitted for free to all Shropshire NGS gardens.
Don't forget that many of our gardens are open by arrangement throughout the season.  Find out more here.
More dates for your diary:
Two gardens, both with an emphasis on spectacular autumn colours:

A new garden opens in aid of the NGS on Saturday 15th October:  THE PADDOCK, Annscroft, SY5 8AN will open from 11 am to 5 pm.
70 trees, some of which are rare, form a mini arboretum - another garden to visit for stunning autumn colours.

Last, but by no means least, MILLICHOPE PARK, Munslow, Craven Arms, SY7 9HA will open on Sunday 16th October from 2 to 5 pm.  Historic landscape gardens covering 14 acres with lakes and cascades dating from C18, woodland walks and specimen trees.

You can find out more about all the gardens on our website here.
Tracey Bleakley, Chief Executive of Hospice UK, said: "We are hugely grateful for the amazing support for hospice care shown by everyone at the National Garden Scheme – the team at Hatchlands, county organisers and volunteers – and also to members of the public who visit these beautiful gardens. The funding from the National Garden Scheme is vital to the sustainability of more than 200 hospices across the UK, and makes a lasting difference to terminally ill people and their families.
The National Garden Scheme has supported Hospice UK since 1996, donating over £6 million during that time.
