Mid Wales Opera

Join Mid Wales Opera in the unique centenary celebrations of Benjamin Britten's birth by having supper and enjoying a recital on Wednesday 4 September 6:30pm.

Hailed by the Daily Telegraph as a "voice of real distinction", brilliant tenor Nicky Spence and Royal Harpist, Hannah Stone will perform a recital in two parts with supper hosted by Michael Berkeley - composer, broadcaster and godson of Benjamin Britten.

The programme includes Britten's A Hymn on Divine Music, A Birthday Hansel and Canticle V, Suite for Harp, items from a historic recital attended by Britten himself in the historic music room at Gregynog, with Wessex Graves, a song cycle by Michael Berkeley, your host for the evening.

Tickets are £45 including a two course meal and coffee and are available by emailing here

The evening is part of a wider residential programme between 4-6 September, "Benjamin Britten-Opera Genius" where visitors are given the opportunity to stay at Gregynog and learn more about the composer from Mid Wales Opera Artistic Director Nicholas Cleobury, Britten biographer Paul Kildea and Michael McCarthy joint Artistic Director of Music Theatre Wales.

Tickets at £195 include all meals, two nights' accommodation and a trip to the premiere of MWO's new production Albert Herring at Theatr Hafren, Newtown.
