It's our 90th Anniversary this year and we're so pleased that over 50,000 visitors came to celebrate our Anniversary Weekend with us at one of our 380 gardens open at the end of May. If you weren't able to visit a garden in May then take advantage of the wonderful weather and go along to a garden opening over the summer, we have 2,400 of them! This week we have 47 group gardens open, all of which can be viewed here.

Our President, Mary Berry, gave us a great tip which we posted on our social media channels recently: visit gardens as much as possible to pick up ideas and to help you unwind. We couldn't agree more, and you can find a beautiful garden to visit near you on our website.

This month, our founder the Queen's Nursing Institute (QNI) celebrates its 130th anniversary. The QNI was originally created with money raised by the women of England for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, which took place on 20th June 1887. The Queen became the charity's first patron when it was incorporated by royal charter. In 1927 the first gardens were opened to the public to raise money for the QNI, and the National Garden Scheme was founded.

We've been a benefactor of the QNI ever since then, and this year to celebrate our joint anniversaries we donated £375,000. We've partnered with the QNI to create an amazing infographic explaining the history behind our special partnership that you can see here. Very kindly, the QNI have also provided us with a very special Strawberry Vol-au-vent recipe, fit for all parties; 90th, 130th or otherwise! You can find it here.

Photography Competition
We're delighted to announce that our Photography Competition is now officially open! We've got several categories open for entry, including BBC Gardeners' World 'Fantastic Flowers' and Celebrating National Garden Scheme gardens. There are lots of fantastic prizes up for grabs, with the top prize of a private visit for you and four friends to Mary Berry's garden!

The competition closes on September 1st, full details can be found here. However there's no time like the present, especially with our gardens looking so fabulous in June; we've put together a list here with what to look out for this month in our gardens.
