What is `long COVID` asnd who is affected?

Dear Blogger

Message from Patient Access

It's been six months since the UK went into lockdown to try to get the pandemic under control. We now know much more about the virus, but we're still learning about the long-term impacts. More and more people are coming forward with symptoms of 'long COVID'. Where some have recovered quickly from mild infections, others are struggling with debilitating fatigue, pain, breathing difficulties and other physical symptoms, months on.

It's crucial we all continue to do our best to protect ourselves and others against COVID-19. Follow the latest social distancing and self-isolation guidelines, wash your hands or use hand sanitiser frequently and wear a mask where it's required. And, since we don't know how COVID-19 will interact with this year's flu, consider booking a flu vaccine to keep yourself and your family well this winter.

What are the long-term health impacts of coronavirus?

Whilst some people experience mild COVID-19 infections and recover quickly, others can be far more serious and some continue to battle 'long COVID' symptoms weeks or months down the line.

Is it safe to have the flu jab when you're pregnant?

Even though pregnant women are eligible for free flu vaccinations, half of women don't get vaccinated. But why is it important and is it safe for you and your baby?
