Volunteering on the Cliffe

Dear Blogger

Message from David Shearan, Cliffe Crew.

How do you fancy volunteering occasionally and doing something beneficial for your local area? Read on to find out how.

The Cliffe is a special place. It's a treasured green space and it's also a rare habitat for plants and wildlife. A group of people called the Cliffe Crew help to maintain the Cliffe for our use and they help with conservation tasks for the habitat.

The next Cliffe Crew working party is on Sunday 12th December from 9:00am to 12 noon. We meet outside Hill Cottage which is at the top of the bridleway which leads up from Little Ness Road.

At this session we will be raking up and removing the bracken brash that was created by the heavy horse harrowing in October. If you want to come and help please bring your own rake if you have one, and your own refreshments. We will be led by our Park Ranger Lee who will also be able to answer any questions you have about the Cliffe habitat and its conservation.
