Dog fouling

ARE YOU CLEARING UP YOUR DOG`S FOUL MESS??

The Parish Council of Ruyton XI Towns hears of too many incidents of

                                                        DOG FOULING.
We have inserted polite notices in our Newsletter and the Three Parishes Newsletter. We have paid for new signs and stuck stickers on waste bins.
We have installed new waste bins in some areas.

But the problem persists.

Dealing with Dog Fouling is a matter for Shropshire Council - the Parish Council have no "powers" to prosecute or take any other formal action apart from improving communication.
So we now suggest that all residents report incidents directly to Shropshire Council, with the intention of encouraging firmer enforcement of the laws that should be keeping our community cleaner.
This is an extract from the Shropshire Council Web Site that explains how to report Dog Fouling incidents. There is more chance of firm action being taken if the incidents are recorded in a photo - easy to do in this age of camera-phones.
HOW TO REPORT DOG FOULING INCIDENTS
You can report incidents of dog fouling by completing the Shropshire Council Online Report Form  or by contacting Shropshire Council Customer Service Centre on 0345 678 9006
Dog owners are required by law to clean up after their dog; failure to do so can result in a fixed penalty notice being issued or possible prosecution.
Dog waste should be disposed of in the appropriate manner, either by utilising the Shropshire Council dog or litter bins or by taking it home and disposing of it in your general refuse bin.

This is the web address of the Online Report Form in case you have to enter it manually, or cur and paste into your Browser:-
