After doing a super job for more than 10 years John Gittins and Ed Garbett have opted for a well-deserved retirement this year. I know we have all appreciated their efforts.
At Monday's Parish Council Meeting we decided to keep up the tradition - albeit a bit late in the season.
With super support from the Derwen College Garden Centre and our local Barncroft Nursery we have purchased around 30 baskets.
Most of these are now hung, with a few more to do over the week-end.
If a basket has appeared near you then please water it - they need watering every day if its dry - preferably in the early morning or evening when the sun is not at its hottest.
Many thanks in advance - it usually seems to work quite well.
Next year we will start a bit earlier and invite local businesses and villagers to make a contribution so that they are not a burden on Council Tax.
