NGS Gardens open in September

Message from Shropshire National Gardens Scheme - raising funds for charity.

There are some beautiful Shropshire gardens open during September for the National Garden Scheme, raising money for cancer and caring charities including Macmillan, Marie Curie and Hospices UK as well as a host of others.

Windy Ridge: Little Wenlock, Telford, TF6 5BB: open on Sunday 2nd September (12-5pm); delightful, plant-packed garden with strong design and exuberant planting, looking lovely in early autumn.  Lots of interest for keen gardeners in this garden.  https://www.ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden/garden/19863

Goldstone Hall:  Goldstone, nr Market Drayton, TF9 2NA: open on Wednesday 5th September (2-5pm); amazing double herbaceous border, huge productive garden, lots of rose and herb borders, plus delightful stripey lawns: there is much to enjoy at Goldstone: https://www.ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden/garden/25351

48 Bramble Ridge: Bridgnorth, WV16 4SQ: open on Sunday 9th September (12.30-5.30pm); steep garden with many steps and levels affording far-reaching views to the Severn Valley; plant-packed terraces with late summer colour, full of interesting plants: not suitable for less-mobile visitors:

Sunningdale:  9 Mill Street, Wem, SY4 5ED: open on Sunday 9th September (11-4pm); full of rare and interesting plants, this town garden in the heart of Wem is a hidden gem: lovely borders, productive garden, ponds and waterfalls to enjoy; some wheelchair access:  https://www.ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden/garden/33475

Ruthall Manor: Ditton Priors, Bridgnorth, WV16 6TN: open on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th September (1-6pm): rare and interesting trees give early autumn interest in this delightful garden, offset by late summer borders & rose beds and a beautiful old pond: https://www.ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden/garden/7763
