Creative Writing course for adults
Are you interested in FREE Adult Education opportunities in your area as part of a collaborative research project?
Classes in Creative Writing will be offered at Oswestry Library from Tuesday 12th November from 12.30 – 3.00
This course is designed for those who are new to creative writing, but will also be useful to those with some experience who would like to develop their skills. It will help to identify your strengths and interests as a writer by giving you the opportunity to experiment with a number of different types of writing such as fiction, poetry and autobiography. You will learn how to use your own memory and observation as a starting point, how to develop a plot and create a narrative voice. Learners will be expected to take part in the research project as detailed below:
The WEA West Midlands is working in partnership with the University of Oxford to explore the extent to which Adult Education can enhance well-being. In a project supported by the Rayne Foundation, free group tuition will be offered to people able to commit to 2½ hours a week for a minimum of 20 weeks and who are keen to participate in and support the research. Participation will involve answering questionnaires, taking part in individual and group interviews, offering case study information and having your blood pressure taken before and after classes on four occasions over this period. This is an exciting opportunity to learn something you are interested in for free AND contribute to leading edge research led by a world class University
