Willow Gallery CIC Exhibition: Information for Exhibitors

Exhibition Title: New Year Open Exhibition
 
Dates: Saturday 24th January to Saturday 28th February 2015

Summary: An open exhibition of contemporary artwork and handmade craft.
 
Media: Open to all media: Paintings, sculpture, original prints, textiles, drawing, ceramics, photography, glass and metal work.
Installations considered, please contact the gallery.
Crafts: High quality British made craft.
Items will be displayed in the gallery space and the gallery team will curate your work, you are welcome to include your own hanging and display systems.

Description: This exhibition will run for 5 weeks. Artists can submit single piece or a series of work, submission fees are according to the space used rather than number of works submitted.
The gallery will be responsible for hanging all artwork. Artwork can be replaced as work sells with no extra charge.
 
Exhibition Timetable:
Entry Form + Entry Fee + Signed Exhibitors Agreement, Hand in Deadline: Monday 19th January

Artwork Delivery: Monday 19th January
(Alternative earlier delivery can be arranged by prior agreement)
Exhibition Dates: Saturday 24th January to Saturday 28th February 2015
Collection of all unsold artwork: Sunday 1st March, 12 – 2pm
(Alternative later collection can be arranged by prior agreement)

Submission Types and Prices:
Type 1: Maximum total width of all works (inc. frames) ≤100cm - £15
Type 2: Maximum total width of all works (inc. frames) ≤200cm - £30
Type 3: Maximum total width of all works (inc. frames) ≤300cm - £45
Type 4:  Maximum total width of all works (inc. frames)≤400cm - £60
Type 5: Plinth for sculpture, ceramics and 3D work – 20x30cm -  £15

Commission:
The gallery takes 35% commission on all artwork sold. Please include this commission within the given selling price on the application form. The Willow Gallery is a community interest, not-for-profit, gallery therefore commission on sales and exhibition entry fees go to supporting the up-keep of the gallery.

Entry Form:
Title your postal application / email: New year Open 2015. Please send example (JPEG) images of work with the title or post images of your artwork.
A list of the works you wish to exhibit and the dimensions on the attached form.
Submission fee is required to be paid with the entry form. Please indicate any special requests or enquires about hanging unusual work.

Preparation of work:
All framed/canvas work must be mirror plated in the middle of the frame and strung 1/3rd down the frame using D rings and picture cord.
 
All artwork including sculpture must be clearly labeled on the back. All framed/canvas works must have a luggage style label hanging down from the back of the artwork giving artwork details as described above. This label must be clearly visible when the work is on the wall. The top of the work should also be clearly marked. This is essential for accurate labelling and hanging of artwork.

Artist Statement – All work needs an artist statement included, please email this to the gallery. This should be no larger than an A5 portrait page at font size 14, Garamond style. A statement could elaborate upon your working practices, media used, inspirations, or a literacy piece which accompanies your work and an image of you working, if you wish.

Call for Tutors

The Willow Gallery team will shortly be planning another packed programme for the next Spring/Summer season and would welcome anyone with previous teaching experience who is interested in running workshops, courses or classes to get in touch with the gallery before mid January, this includes previous tutors who have shown interest for the next season.

Workshops, Courses and Classes are usually held in The Dunbabin Artspace, a bright and spacious room adjacent to the Willow Gallery.

Dunbabin Artspace:
9m x 5m
Wooden Floor
16 electric sockets
Blinds for complete blackout/privacy
Adjacent kitchen space with running water/sink/fridge.
Toilets.
Central Heating
14 (70cm x 180cm) trestle tables and up to 60 chairs available
Adjacent car park for free customer parking
 
The gallery will deal with the administration of all bookings. Charges from the hire of the Dunbabin Room will be deducted from the total takings which will be paid by BACS within two working days of session delivery.   

Dunbabin Room Hire Prices:(Including Booking Administration/ Advertising/Heating/Lighting )
   £15 per Hour            
   £45 for Half a Day / £50 for evening (6-11pm)
   £75 per Day  (9am to 6pm)
            
The Willow Gallery is a community interest, not-for-profit gallery and therefore all fees help support the gallery.   

The Willow Eatery is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday for lunches, drinks and cakes.

Accompanying photographs of past student outcomes (if applicable)  
A digital portfolio (in jpeg form) of your own studio practice (if applicable)
 
>From the 8th of January we will review all of the completed forms and aim to contact everyone with further details/confirmations as soon as possible in the New Year. The gallery will then produce its Spring/Summer what’s on brochure.
