Apparently, the only thing requiring the barriers round the repair was that Shropshire Council needed to inspect and pass the work - done this afternoon instead of tomorrow. So ST could take their own barriers, signs and cones away - but were not authorised to touch the Traffic Management Road Closed signs, subcontracted to LUX, who were scheduled to come tomorrow lunchtime after the planned SC inspection. Faced with another night and morning of misery I summoned the "Sign Fairy" (big sister of the Tooth Fairy) She moved all the LUX signs and cones. No doubt she will be in trouble tomorrow, but she doesn't seem to care! As always, the guys actually DOING the job were magnificent - let down by admin and management. I will write them a letter!
