Volunteer wanted - training given

Dear All,

We have a new member of the Meres and Mosses team employed by RSPB, she will be needing help and support organising  events across the region.

If you are interested in volunteering – or know someone who might be – then please get in touch with Sharon Boardman (contact details below)

Many thanks,

Voluntary Community Engagement Events Assistant - Shropshire

RSPB Midlands Regional Office

Why we want you

We need your help to ensure that events run smoothly and that attendees have a great time. You can help us convey the RSPB's message to a wide audience especially families with children.

RSPB membership really is the lifeblood of the Society and underpins every single thing we do. It helps us fund nature conservation work here and across the UK. It is therefore important that you can inspire people about the work we do and warm them up to the idea of membership.

What’s in it for you?

This role will suit someone who loves to meet and talk to visitors and who would gain satisfaction from passing on their passion about wildlife. It's also a great opportunity to make a real difference to the work of the RSPB by encouraging more support.

The skills you need

You'll need to have the confidence to strike up conversations with strangers, a desire to help, an enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation, but most important of all, you'll need a friendly demeanour and a ready smile!

Your time

Minimum commitment: 1 - 2 days per month
Duration: Ongoing
Period: All year round
