Message from David Shearan, Parish Council.
Mulching in the Spinney ....
... not a folk song or a Morris Dance but an opportunity to volunteer and give our new trees a flying start by clearing growth from around the base and putting down wood chippings as a mulch.
If you are interested in helping then letÆs meet at 2pm on Saturday 15 June in the car park in the DoctorÆs Meadow playing fields.
Please bring a wheelbarrow and a garden fork. You will need to wear sturdy gloves, trousers and long sleeved top to avoid nettle stings. If you have garden shears they they may be helpful as well. The wood chippings are already on site, left there by Simon Gittins.
