Make a difference, be a local councillor

Dear Blogger,

Message from Lydia Bardsley, Ruyton XI Towns Parish Clerk

-------------------------------------------

Make a Change, Become a Councillor

Apply to join the Council by 29th April 2023

One vacant seat left to be filled by co-option
The vacant seat left by the resignation of Cllr Bob Edwards is to be filled by co-option, as no by-election was called. As the next meeting is provisionally scheduled for 2nd May there is a shorter application window than normal.

If you are interested in joining the Council, please submit completed application forms to the clerk by the deadline of 9pm on SATURDAY 29TH APRIL 2023.

For an informal chat about what being a councillor involves, please see contact details on the co-option advert below, or feel free to speak with any of the other councillors you may already know.  The Good Councillors Guide is also a great intro into what Local Councils do and how they work.

The Council welcomes new Councillor, Nick Kynaston
The Parish Council is delighted to announce that at the April meeting Mr Nick Kynaston was co-opted on to the Council to fill the other vacant seat. We are very much looking forward to working with him for the benefit of the local community. More information on Nick, contact details, and a register of interest will be added to the Councillor webpage in the near future.

Kind regards,

Mrs Lydia Bardsley
Clerk to Ruyton XI Towns Parish Council
