Baschurch Fire Station

A couple of weeks ago we had a chimney fire.

Many thanks to the two people who stopped their cars to tell us our chimney was on fire.

I dialled 999 and our local Baschurch firemen were on the scene within minutes.   As it turned out, some hopeless crow or jackdaw housebuilders had dropped so many sticks down the chimney that they caught fire but luckily I had cleaned the chimney so there was no soot to catch fire.

The firemen did a great job of checking the chimney by spraying the inside with water and they did a very clean job as well.

What a different story it might have been if the chimney had not been cleaned and caught fire because of the pile of sticks stuck in there.

Thanks lads, we are really glad you are there to protect our community.

To keep our local volunteer firemen there for us, go to www.savebaschurchfirestation.co.uk  and/or write to the names at the top of this email.  To write to Owen Patterson, our MP  go to www.owenpaterson.org/contact
