Wishing you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year With the festive season upon us and 2014 just around the corner we would like to thank both our customers and publisher friends for all your support during the year. We've had a great time hosting some memorable author events, being part of some fantastic festivals and working with local schools and the library to share a passion for books. We wish you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year Carrie, Tim & the Booka team | The Rosie Project - Graham Simsion Thursday 6th February 2014, 7.00pm (for 7.30pm start) at Booka Join us on Thursday February 6th as the The Rosie Project (Lobster Love) book tour stops off in Oswestry. Author Graham Simsion will be with us to talk about his marvellous debut novel The Rosie Project. This first novel about a man with undiagnosed Asperger’s syndrome became the unlikely publishing phenomenon of 2013, with rights sold in more than 40 countries around the world. It’s been described as a cross between Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, about a teenager with Asperger’s, and David Nicholls’s One Day, a bittersweet love story – both huge bestsellers. It hit the top spot in Simsion’s native Australia, topped in the US and in the UK stormed the Sunday Times Bestseller’s chart, winning glowing reviews and author endorsements across the board. It is published in paperback on January 2nd 2014. Love isn’t an exact science – but no-one told Don Tillman. A thirty-nine year old geneticist, Don has never had a second date. So he devises the wife project, a scientific test to find the perfect partner. Enter Rosie – ‘the world’s most incompatible woman’ – throwing Don’s safe ordered life into chaos. But what is this unsettling, alien emotion he’s feeling? We love this quirky, funny and endearing love story and feel sure you’ll be rooting for Don and Rosie every step of the way. Date: Thursday 6th February 2014 -7.00pm (for 7.30pm start) Venue: Booka Tickets: £8 (£5 redeemable against book purchase. Includes refreshments) Please book in advance - for tickets, call in at the shop, give us a call or send us an email.
