Willow Gallery Courses in the New Year

We are pleased to announce the first of our New Year Season of art classes at the gallery with an early bird discount if you book before the 12th of December. Express Yourself Painting Oil Course
Starting Tuesday 28th January.10am to 3pm.  5 Sessions: 28/1/14, 4/2/14, 18/2/14, 4/3/14, 18/3/14
This course is designed to develop experience working in a broad range of oil painting styles and techniques, thus helping to build and develop a student’s own individual styles. A variety of subject matter and methodology will be covered, including working on small and large scale paintings and exploring composition, mark-making, tone and texture as well as developing a more personal response to painting. Throughout the course we will study the work of historical and contemporary painters. Demonstrations, group discussions and individual advice and assistance will be given by professional artist and tutor Tereska Shepherd (BA hons).
This is a Lifelong Learning Course.
Course Fee £70 (Concessions £60) Book Before 12th of December & save £10
 
Flower Painting
Starting Tuesday 11th of March. 10am to 4pm.
8 Sessions: 11/3/14,   25/3/14,   8/4/14,   13/5/14,   20/5/14,  10/6/14,  24/06/14,   09/7/14
This inspiring, practical painting course is ideal for those wishing to capture the wonderful colours and forms of flowers in a variety of styles and media, whilst further developing observational and painting skills. During the course skills will be developed for depicting flowers throughout the seasons. Colour mixing, mark making, and composition skills will develop through exploration of techniques and study of historical and contemporary artists.  Demonstrations, group discussions and individual advice and assistance will be given by professional artist and tutor Tereska Shepherd (BA hons). 
This is a Lifelong Learning Course.
Course Fee £140 (Concessions £120) Book Before 12th of December & save £20
 
Associated Course: Drawing and Painting the Landscape. Venue: The Loft, Coed y Dinas, Welshpool Starting Wednesday 29th of January. 10am to 3pm.

The Willow Gallery team will shortly be planning another packed programme for next Spring/Summer season and would welcome anyone with previous teaching experience who is interested in running workshops, courses or classes to please complete the attached Workshop/ Course/Class proposal form and return it to the gallery by the 8thof January.

We are particularly looking for:
Weekly/Fortnightly art classes
Saturday or weekend workshops including: Pottery, Enamelling, Book Binding, Jewellery Making, Textiles etc….
Music Classes
Dance Classes/Meditation/Pilates etc…
Artists to run one off/ 2 consecutive workshops for the Willow Gallery After School Art Group (Age range 6 to 13) on Tuesdays from 4-5.30pm. (Previous teaching/workshop experience and CRB required)
We are open to other suggestions and creative ideas.
 
If you have already run courses/workshops at the gallery and would like to do so again or have already been contacted by the gallery with regard to next year, please still complete the attached proposal form as this will help us with planning.
Workshops, Courses and Classes are usually held in The Dunbabin Artspace, a bright and spacious room adjacent to the Willow Gallery.

Dunbabin Artspace:

16 electric sockets
Blinds for complete blackout/privacy
Adjacent kitchen space with running water/sink/fridge.
Toilets.
Central Heating
14 (70cm x 180cm) trestle tables and 60 chairs. available
Adjacent car park for free customer parking
 
The gallery will deal with the administration of all bookings. Charges from the hire of the Dunbabin Room will be deducted from the total takings which will be paid by BACS within two working days of the workshop/course/class delivery.   

Dunbabin Room Hire Prices:(Including Booking Administration/ Advertising/Heating/Lighting )
   £15 per Hour           
   £45 for Half a Day / £50 for evening (6-11pm)
   £75 per Day  (9am to 6pm)
            
The Willow Gallery is a community interest, not-for-profit, gallery and therefore all fees help support the gallery.   

The Willow Eatery is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9.30 am to 5pm on Saturday for lunches, drinks and cakes.

A recent CV including a reference
Accompanying photographs of past student outcomes (if applicable)  
A digital portfolio (in jpeg form) of your own studio practise (if applicable)
 
From the 8th of January we will review all of the completed forms and aim to contact everyone with further details/confirmations as soon as possible in the New Year. The gallery will then produce its Spring/Summer what’s on brochure.
