kinokulture independent cinema needs volunteers

Dear Blogger

Message from Kinokulture independent cinema in Oswestry.

Kinokulture Cinema is looking for new volunteers

As we prepare for reopening on Friday 21st May we are now looking to increase our pool of volunteer stewards.

If you have a love of film, enjoy meeting new people and are happy working in hospitality/customer services then you could be just the person to join our fantastic, friendly team of volunteer stewards.

Kinokulture is a small independent cinema serving the Oswestry community with a year round programme of Independent British & World Cinema, mainstream films, family friendly films, film festivals and Event cinema including productions from The National Theatre Live, The Royal Opera House and Exhibition On Screen.

Our bar/cafe space serves a range of locally & ethically sourced beers, wines, hot & cold soft drinks and snacks.

Our aim has always been to offer our community an exciting, entertaining and diverse range of cinematic experiences in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.

What our customers say about us:

kinokulture is the very best thing that ever happened to Oswestryand certainly, our life would be culturally, a lot poorer without it.

A cultural jewel in the heart of the Welsh Borders - unmissable *****

High quality screen and an amazing sound system! Love this cinema! *****

The Role:

As a volunteer steward you will be a key point of contact for our customers, anticipating and responding to their needs to ensure every visit to our venue is memorable.

Duties vary but may include welcoming customers to the cinema, serving on the bar/cafe, stewarding during the film to ensure that everything runs smoothly, cleaning after the screening and general customer service duties.

In line with BFI diversity standards we are committed to increasing the diversity of our volunteers and staff and therefore encourage applications from people from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic diverse backgrounds and other diverse communities.

Training will be given.

There are no fixed hours required but you should expect a shift to last a minimum of three hours and we will be showing films at 8:00pm on weekdays & Saturdays with occasional 5:30pm screenings during the week and 2:00pm screenings on Sundays.

If you are friendly, flexible aged 16 or over and have a helpful can-do attitude we'd love you to apply.

Please send us an email explaining why you would like to join our team to:
